HOME T H E K N E E D E E P E X P E R I E N C E The diverse musical backgrounds of the members of THE KNEE DEEP EXPERIENCE support the band's intent to promote unbounded creativity and no limits in its musical endeavors. The resulting sound is a mature groove that represent the essence of Funk and R&B.The energy of their live performances is a testament to their creative spirit, demonstrating a robust rock flair tempered with an artistic touch.  Ed Davis, guitarist and songwriter, is from the Washington D.C. area and has played in several D.C. and Phoenix, AZ. area bands (Excalibur, Paul's House, Simon Crown Revue). Ed also provides the band with the PA support necessary to play at a variety of functions and venues. Ed has been influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Ernie Isley (Isley Brothers), and Michael Hampton and Eddie Hazel (Parliament/Funkadelic). Chris Brown, singer and the principle songwriter of THE KNEE DEEP EXPERIENCE, is from Rochester, New York. Chris is a dynamic vocal talent and together with Ed, this duo is the source of the band's honest and passionate sound. Chris' primary source of influence and inspiration has been the works of Funk pioneer George Clinton (Parliament/Funkadelic). Anthony Stevens, drummer, is also from Rochester, New York. He has played in the New York circuit for many years and has become one of the most sought after drummers on the scene. Anthony has held it down for some of the biggest names in the business, including Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osborne/Pride and Glory), and Gilby Clark (Guns & Roses). Anthony's percussive style is a reflection of his diverse influences: David Garibaldi (Tower of Power), Rick James, Will Calhoun (Living Color), John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Steve Gadd (Steely Dan), and Jan Kincaid (The Brand New Heavies). Jack Apple, bassist, is a native of the Phoenix area and has played in several valley bands (Incognito, Shaman). Jack has been influenced by John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Geddy Lee (Rush), and Stuart Hamm. Donna Larson, keyboards and saxophonist, recently moved to the Phoenix area from Wisconsin and has made an immediate impact in the valley's Jazz and R&B scene, performing with such artists as Phil Hendricks, Margo Reed, and the Simon Crown Revue. THE KNEE DEEP EXPERIENCE is focused on bringing a powerful dose of Funk to the valley of the sun. |
